How selling your Solstice works here

01

Tell us about the car

Year, make, model, mileage, and where it sits. A VIN speeds things up but is not required to start, and the pickup address tells us which local run the car joins.

02

Answer 12 condition questions

Wheels, battery, key, whether it starts and drives, the catalytic converter, and the rest — the same checklist our buyer verifies in person, so the offer is built on the car you actually have.

03

We review every application by hand and send one offer, guaranteed for 7 days when the car matches its description. Accept it and pickup is free anywhere in Orange County.

The Solstice generations we buy

The Solstice was Pontiac's Kappa-platform roadster, twin to the Saturn Sky, launched for 2006 with a 2.4L four-cylinder and rear-wheel drive. The GXP added a turbocharged 2.0L direct-injected engine with 260 horsepower, sport suspension, and a limited-slip differential. A removable-hardtop coupe joined for 2009 and is rare, with just over a thousand built. Production ended at the Wilmington plant as Pontiac was wound down in 2009–2010.

Identify a GXP and, especially, a coupe clearly in Orange County — both are the specifications collectors look for. State the transmission and the convertible top's condition honestly, and keep water pump, differential, and airbag recall records together; Kappa buyers research those three items first.

What we buy — your Solstice included

Fixable issues welcome

Battery, glass, panels, and exterior damage from the 12-point checklist — each priced in plainly.

Most 2010-and-newer cars

Sedans, SUVs, and vans from any maker, clean or with fixable issues.

Japanese vehicles of any age

Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Subaru hold up in Southern California, and we price them that way.

Trucks of any age

Pickups are the top of our want list — working trucks, high-mileage trucks, Japanese trucks included.

Where the line is

We buy the cars the big guys reject — but we are not a junk buyer. These fall outside this buying program, and we would rather tell you now than waste your time:

  • No working key
  • Blown engine
  • Shot transmission
  • Major structural damage
  • Heavily stripped
  • Trash-filled or severely neglected

Common Solstice problems we still buy

Water pump failure and replacement labor

The Solstice's water pump is driven from the timing components, so a leaking or noisy pump becomes a deep, labor-intensive repair rather than a simple swap. Owners quoted for the job on a fifteen-year-old roadster very often decide to sell the car instead of paying.

Rear differential pinion seal leaks

Kappa differentials are documented for pinion seal leaks, low fluid, and resulting whine or clunk, with recall attention on some years. Once a differential has run low, repair means specialist axle work, and many owners sell rather than rebuild a noisy rear end.

Passenger airbag sensor mat failure

The seat cushion passenger presence sensor can crack and fail, switching off the passenger airbag and lighting its warning lamp; the fault was covered by a recall. Out-of-coverage cushion replacement is expensive for a small part, which pushes some owners to sell the car on.

Convertible top wear and rear window faults

Solstice tops wear through at fold points, buttress flaps and release cables give trouble, and rear window glass can separate from the fabric. A shabby or leaking top dominates how a roadster drives and shows, so owners often sell rather than pay for a replacement.

Every one of these is a condition answer on the form — report it and it is priced in from the start, never discovered at pickup.

Solstice seller questions

What Solstice years do you buy?

We buy Pontiac Solstice vehicles across the 2006–2010 range we commonly see, and we will look at older ones case by case. Condition matters more than the year — a high-mileage Solstice that starts, drives, and has a working key is exactly what the form is for.

How much is my Solstice worth?

It comes down to the individual car: year, mileage, trim, and the 12 condition answers. We review every application by hand and send one clear offer, guaranteed for 7 days when the car matches its description — no automated lowball and no haggling at the curb.

My Solstice has over 150,000 miles. Is that a problem?

High mileage alone does not disqualify a Solstice. If it starts, drives, and has a working key, report the mileage honestly in the form and we will price the whole car, not just the odometer.

What happens on pickup day?

Our buyer checks the VIN, title, mileage, and the same condition items you submitted for your Solstice. If everything matches, you sign the transfer paperwork, receive payment, and hand over the keys — and the tow is free in Orange County.
