The sixth-generation Legacy ran from 2015 to 2019, followed by a seventh generation on Subaru's global platform from 2020, adding a turbocharged XT model. Subaru ended Legacy production after the 2025 model year, closing out a nameplate that had been sold in the United States since 1990.

Common Legacy problems we still buy
CVT problems and valve body failure
Subaru's Lineartronic CVT can develop shuddering, slipping, and solenoid or valve-body faults, and Subaru extended CVT warranty coverage on many 2015 to 2018 models. A transmission warning light with poor acceleration is a typical presentation.
Head gasket leaks on older engines
