The GLE generations we buy
The GLE name replaced the M-Class for 2016 on the W166 platform, adding a GLE Coupe body style and plug-in hybrid and AMG models. The second-generation V167 arrived for 2020 with turbo six-cylinder mild-hybrid power, available air and active suspension, and an optional third row, continuing through 2024.
Most GLE models in Orange County are 4MATIC all-wheel drive, with rear-drive versions sold early in the W166 run. Diesel, hybrid, AMG, and three-row examples are all bought even when air suspension or electrical faults are present.
Common GLE problems we still buy

Transfer Case and Transmission Shudder
4MATIC models can develop low-speed shudder and binding from transfer case fluid degradation and internal wear. The nine-speed automatic can also shift harshly when its fluid and adaptations are neglected.
